One Gifted Van, Four Kids,
and a Whole Lot of Dreams
How a youth pastor in Phoenix, a borrowed set of tools, and a handful of teenagers became Vueuv Technologies — still proudly serving Phoenix, Arizona today.
Every company has a starting line. Ours is parked right there in that photo. In 2018 I was pastoring youth in Phoenix, Arizona, and we had almost nothing to our name — until a pastor friend handed me the keys to that white van. A gift. No strings attached. I don't think he knew it at the time, but he wasn't just giving us a vehicle. He was giving us a beginning.
The idea behind the business was never just security systems. Working with young people every week, I kept noticing the same thing: so many of them had never been taught how to work with their hands. Some had never held a drill. Some were nervous going up a small ladder. I thought — what if we built a company where young people could learn what it means to show up, work hard, and take pride in a job done right?
So that's how we started: four young kids and me, knocking on doors in our own neighborhood. No customer list, no advertising budget. Just that van, a lot of dreams, and the belief that if we did honest work, the work would speak for itself.
And it did. Door by door, install by install, Phoenix families and businesses gave us a chance — and then told their neighbors. But the part that makes me proudest isn't the growth. It's that one of those kids who started out knocking on doors with me — Josh Rodriguez — is now a grown man, and today he and his young wife and kids run our Arizona division. That was the whole point, and God saw it through further than I ever imagined.
Through all of it, this has stayed a family business. My wife Amanda and I have carried Vueuv together — every late night, every leap of faith. Family owned isn't a slogan for us. It's just the truth.
Today Phoenix is still home. Josh and his family lead our Arizona team, serving Phoenix, Glendale, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, and the communities around them. The faces on the trucks may change, but nothing else has. The purpose is the same. The priorities are the same. Show up, do it right, and treat people the way we'd want our own family treated.
